What is the Teaching & Learning Cooperative (TLC)?
The TLC is a voluntary program that: • Promotes high quality professional development in support of District goals. • Focuses on teaching and learning in support of achieving District goals. • Encourages teachers to initiate and take responsibility for their own professional growth. • Compensates teachers who participate with a 1.5% salary increase. • Is funded by Title II, Teacher Quality Funds of NCLB • Is designed and managed by the joint PUSD/PFT Professional Development Advisory Board. • Is entirely voluntary. No TLC projects can be mandated for all school/all staff through forced participation.
