What is the target range for blood glucose before Physical Activity?
If you’re truly hypoglycemic, my friend, I doubt very much that you’ll be able to push up your blood sugar (glucose) level anyway. This would only occur in diabetics. I’m afraid the best you’d be able to do is to take in extra carbohydrate prior to physical activity in the hope that this would keep your blood glucose levels where they belong. It may also pay you to test your blood glucose levels several times during your period of physical activity just to make sure that it’s not dropping too much. (Ideally, you would take in slower acting carbohydrates … things that are lower on the Glycemic Index table of foods, as these take longer to break down into their residual components. i.e. the glucose that affects the way you feel.) I don’t know whether you’re at school and/or whether your school knows about your condition. If they are aware, then they may make allowances for you to take ‘time out’ in which you can test your blood glucose levels. I wish you the very best of luck, dear lad
