Q1 stands at 522.5 metres, with a roof height of 275 metres. This makes it the world’s tallest residential tower and the tallest building in the Southern Hemisphere. In fact, it is currently the 25th tallest building in the world. Q1 is so high in fact, that it puts the other buildings in Surfers Paradise to shame, literally dwarfing them. Q1 was inspired by the Sydney 2000 Olympic torch and the Sydney Opera House. It stands as a beacon of Australia’s culture and history. The building was developed by the Sunland Groups and was built by Sunland Constructions. It is supported by 26 piles, each 2 metres in diameter that extend 4 metres into solid rock.
