What is the Sustainable Living Action Group?

The Sustainable Living Action Group (SLAG) is a University initiative consisting of elected student College Environment Officers, overseen by the SLAG Coordinator. This is a sabattical post which reports to the University Environment Coordinator. SLAG is a pioneer of behavioural change schemes in higher education in the UK and has been a template for other universities. SLAG’s objective is to make students change their lifestyles so they are more environmentally sustainable. This is achieved through the network of College Environment reps, who share environmental information with their College peers. Each rep works together with their staff College Environmental Champion and staff/student College Environment Team to make their college more sustainable. Alongside working within the colleges, SLAG organises University-wide events throughout the year, and also acts as a platform for student-led environmental projects. SLAG meets fortnightly to share progress and to help implement ideas. T
