What is the survival rate of a tissue based heart valve replacement in a 70 year old woman?
My Grandmother had difficulty breathing one night, so she called 911 and the paramedics arrived. At the hospital, the doctors discovered that she had a weak heart valve and needed to undergo open heart surgery. She will be receiving a tissue based valve. She is in her early 70’s, mildly overweight and has borderline diabetes. Any information would be appreciated.
