What is the supporting technology for Link 2000+ data link services?

0

There are a great many technical reports available on the relative merits of the various air-ground data link technologies, but the Link 2000+ program has identified VDL Mode 2 as the most likely technology to be deployed in the short term seeing aerospace stakeholders industrial plans. VDL Mode 2 meets the Required Communications Performance (RCP) of the Link 2000+ services and has therefore been identified as the baseline technology for initial air-ground data link implementation. Other technologies that meet or exceed the RCP will be considered when plans for their deployment are concrete.
