What is the support entitlement for home and business users?
OEM Users: Microsoft does not support OEM home and business users, customers need to check with the reseller (if purchased an OEM media) or with the hardware vendor (if the software is preinstalled) and they will get technical support from them. FPP Users: All FPP customers are supported whether company or home users only if the product falls under the product life cycle (5 years). Companies: Any company that needs technical support needs to be either a Partner with Microsoft, have Software Assurance ID, TechNet or MSDN. Otherwise the company needs to purchase a technical incident. Advisory support: Home users are entitled for technical advisory support. Companies are not entitled for technical advisory support unless the company is a Gold Partner Third Party Software: Compatibility issues with any third party software is not supported by Microsoft.
