Currently, an NBPTS teacher in the Tuscaloosa City Schools receives a total of $6,000. The State of Alabama provides a $5,000 supplement and the Tuscaloosa City Schools provides an additional $1,000. Beginning 2005-2006, NBPTS teachers will receive a $5,000 local supplement from the Tuscaloosa City Schools in addition to the State of Alabama’s supplement of $5,000, bringing the total annual for each Tuscaloosa City NBPTS teacher to $10,000.
