What is the supervisors role as it relates to the Supervisor Outreach Program?
Supervisors are responsible for creating an environment that enables their employees to reach their full leadership potential. This includes playing an active role in assisting and advising each employee with career development decisions; ensuring education and training needs are included on the Acquisition 5-year IDP; providing for adequate time to pursue career development activities; and encouraging cross-functional training/assignments. The MILDEP has also challenged workforce leaders and supervisory personnel to recommend high-performing individuals to compete for AETE opportunities such as Project/Product Management commands, Senior Service College, the Competitive Development Group (CDG) Program and Civilian-Rotational Developmental Assignment Program (C-RDAP). However, employees are ultimately responsible for managing their own careers.
