What is the student planner/agenda for?
Beginning a few years ago, several teachers noticed that Freshman students were not coming with the organizational skills necessary for their success. Part of the remedy for this situation was to purchase the student planner which every freshman student receives at the beginning of the school year. Students are taught how to use the planner, and teachers keep daily and weekly schedules to help the student organize their calendars. Planners are regularly checked in many classes, and students are obviously required to bring them to classes. In addition to writing down daily work, students should also be keeping track of homework, sports dates, school-related events and dates and long-term assignments. There is also space in the planner for personal and academic goal setting. If you haven’t seen your student’s planner, ask to look it over. If you have any questions, please feel free to call the freshman counselor, Mr. Lampard, or your student’s English teacher.
