The UK Border Agency (UKBA) has a section which handles only student visa extension applications and receives applications directly from some Universities and colleges. The University of Leicester is part of this ‘Student Batch Scheme’. The advantages of using the Student Welfare Office to make your application are: • Your application is checked by a trained member of staff • The Visa Renewal Officer and International Student Advisers act as a contact point for the Home Office in case there are any problems • Your application and documents are posted to the Home Office by the University and returned directly here, making the process more secure Please note that the Student Welfare Office cannot contact the Home Office for any students who have decided not to use the Batch Scheme due to data protection issues.
