WHAT IS THE STRUCTURE OF GCE AS/A-LEVELS EXAMINATIONS?

0

An Advanced GCE qualification is comprised of two components known as Advanced Subsidiary “AS units” and “A2 units”. Candidates who finish the first component AS units will be awarded an AS-level Certificate and those who finish both components, AS and A2 units will be awarded an A-level Certificate. If a candidate is not satisfied with AS/A-level results, they may decline the grade which were given and take some units again in other sessions. Edexcel will then mark the new units and re-grade for candidate. The higher score is the one that goes towards the overall grade. Even if candidate sat a unit more than twice, the best result will be used automatically when the overall grade is calculated. Therefore, when candidate is satisfied with all the results, they must cash-in in order to get the final grades. The passing grades for AS and A-level is A, B, C, D and E with grade A being the highest.
