The structure of the GTIN includes the member organisation prefix, the number allocated to the company, the number of the product and a check digit. This number forms one indivisible identification number that is read in its entirety.The following numbering structures are used for the identification of trade items 8-digit GS1, 12-digit GS1, 13-digit GS1 and 14-digit GS1. All of them can be considered as a 14-digit GTIN.
