What is the strategy behind rebranding Godrej?
I found this statement regarding their branding change — “the re-branding exercise was undertaken as it felt the old brand was not as relevant to young India” — the logo itself isn’t new but the single color was replaced with a swooping tri-color band of green/blue/magenta that crosses the letterforms. All in all a much more contemporary look for what looks like an old line company. Like an Indian GE they make everything from personal care products to medical diagnostic equipment. As they say on their website: “Godrej is a part and parcel of every Indian’s life. From locks to personal care. From appliances to air care. From furniture to construction. There are innumerable ways we enrich quality of life – everyday, everywhere.” I think the new branding is a good fit for that statement.
