What is the story behind the Plagues Bag?
The Passover Plagues Bag was originally designed by Simon Jaffe, a Jewish educator for use with his family to enrich their Seder. As it evolved, Jaffe’s Seder guests urged him to produce and sell the Bag to others. Working at a local JCC, Jaffe copyrighted, developed and produced the Bag in 1995. It has received endorsements from the leadership of each of the major movements of Judaism in the United States. It has won several national awards for educational creativity and innovative fundraising and has received acclaim through articles in many national Jewish and secular newspapers and periodicals. Since the first Bag was produced in 1995 approximately 70,000 have been sold and distributed throughout the world.
