What is the story behind the name “The Dirty Guv’nahs”?
JT: At our first show, there was a friend of ours named The Guv’nah who was on crutches standing in the front row…. after the show was over he told a news camera that our music was “so dirty that he wanted to go home and burn his house down”… hilarious really. PEV: What can fans expect from a live The Dirty Guv’nahs show? JT: 110%. Everything is left on the stage. Fans are encouraged to sing a long, and the songs are written in such a fashion that the live show is more of a communal event and not a performance. PEV: What can fans expect from your recent work? JT: Our new CD that we’re about to record will feature 12 new songs. Some of which have a new twist to the typical Guv’nahs format. Been listening to a lot velvet underground and a lot of Coldplay. Somehow those two bands have influenced some of our newer tunes. PEV: How is this album different from other albums out today?
