What is the story behind lie boards?
Recently the use of a lie board has been in vogue as the “clubfitter’s” tool. The lie board is a valid tool when the marks are properly analyzed. During the fitting session, lie board results should always be interpreted in conjunction with static observations. Use of the lie board alone has a tendency to produce contrary corrections in the golf club to accommodate swing flaws present during the fitting session. When the club is built to counteract swing flaws, the golfer¹s improvement will be stifled, as the club will produce good results only when the swing flaws are present.
