What is the still image resolution?
The still image resolution on a Mini DV cassette is 720 x 480 pixels, which is comparable to 72dpi (dots per inch). On MultiMedia Cards (MMC), images are compressed and recorded in JPEG format and have a resolution of 640 x 480 pixels or 1280 x 960 pixels, depending on model of digital video camera. On most cameras, still images can be recorded right to the Mini DV tape cassette. When using the optional FR-100 Floppy Disk Still Image Recorder, the quality (compression used) of the image may be set to either Super Fine (approximately 190 KB per image), Fine (approximately 124 KB per image), or Standard (approximately 70 KB per image). On those cameras featuring the MMC or SD card slot for recording still images, the image quality may be set to either Fine (approximately 124 KB per image) or Standard (approximately 70 KB per image).
