What is the status of Well AD-5 and how much money has been spent to date on this project?
Well AD-5 was a project that began in 2002 and involved drilling both a directional and vertical well and connecting the two wells together to provide greater and more sustained production from the well. Unfortunately the connection between the two wells could not be completed and the well was not operational until the summer of 2006. We are currently in the process of putting this well into production. It is hoped that by the summer of 2008 this well will be a part of the Castle Pines Norths raw well water portfolio. We believe, based on recent tests, the vertical well should produce in excess of 500 gallons per minute. To date the District has spent $2,163,967 on this project. By comparison a typical Arapahoe Well in our area would have cost approximately $1,000,000 and produced approximately 500-700 g.p.m. It is important to note that the horizontal component of this well, even though it is not directly connected to the vertical component, seems to help maintain water levels in the
