What is the status of the proposals to set up SEZs in Kanpur, Moradabad, Bhadoi and Greater Noida?
Uttar Pradesh is the first state to arrive at a legislation stage on SEZ. The four SEZs are in Moradabad, Kanpur, Bhadohi and Greater Noida. The Moradabad SEZ has commenced operations. Each SEZ requires investment of $100-200 million. What is your experience in public-private participation in infrastructure projects? The UP government is open to public-private partnership and understands that in the present scenario, PPP is the best model, especially for infrastructure development. The state government has created the State Highway Authority, which will shortly issue tenders on BOT basis, for upgradation of 1,000 km of state highways involving an investment of Rs 1,500 crore and more than 20 ROBs involving an investment of Rs 500 crore.
