What is the status of the I/O pins on an unprogrammed, ISP-capable ATF1508AS device?
ATF1500AS Family members that include the ATF1502AS/ASV, ATF1504AS/ASV, ATF1508AS/ASV are shipped blank from the factory. When a blank device is powered up, all I/O pins are tri-stated. For ISP-capable devices, the state of the I/O pins is important because one may solder blank devices onto a printed circuit board (PCB) and then program the devices later in manufacturing flow. By tri-stating the I/O pins, ATMEL ensures that the I/O pins of blank devices do not cause a conflict on the PCB.
