What is the status of the further negotiations provided for in NAFTA Article 1024?
Article 1024 of the NAFTA provides further negotiations to commence no later than December 31, 1998 with a view to the further liberalization of government procurement markets. The Parties held preliminary discussions with a view to commencing those negotiations. No substantive progress has been made.The NAFTA Government Procurement Working Group deals with matters relating to the administration of the Chapter and any irritants regarding access for supppliers.
