What is the STAR Program and how does it assist Probationary Students, Conditionally Admitted Students, and Elect-In Students?
With the STAR program, our Probationary Students, Conditionally Admitted Students, and students who Elect-In to the program are asked to sign a contract that requires they attend study hours, make tutoring appointments, and adhere to monthly progress reports from their faculty. As part of this contract, they meet with the CAAR office weekly to discuss their classes and academic progress. The STAR program is optional for Athletes, Honor Roll Students, Future graduate school students, Freshmen or anyone who is interested in developing stronger academic goals. * Students are held accountable to the CAAR office for meeting weekly with their STAR Counselor, completing mandatory library study hours, and attending mandatory workshops. Thus, students will have access to resources made available through the program as the STAR Counselor will refer and direct students to appropriate resources.
