What is the standing of stoning in Islam?
Stoning is a highly controversial topic in Islam. Although many religious clerics believe stoning to be prescribed by Shari’a (Islamic Law), there is, in fact, no mention of stoning in the Qur’an. In sum, there is no consensus among Muslims over whether stoning is religiously sanctioned.
