What is the standard TSO used on campus?
Standard TSOs have 4-ports on the faceplate, typically 2 voice ports and 2 data ports. Current wiring standards no longer designate the ports as voice/data so that any of the 4 ports can be used for either voice or data as needed. There are many styles of TSOs in campus buildings given the constant evolution of wiring standards over the past 17 years since Stanford installed it’s own PBX. TSOs range from single port “home-style” to large 25-pair legacy cables from the 50s-60s-70s that have special (and bulky) adapters on them.
