Probably the most asked question. Levels of recreational competition vary vastly in Australia. International and First Class players must play in their club sides when they have no prior commitment to higher-level fixtures. Consequently, playing weekend cricket in the District or Grade competition, you could easily find yourself batting or bowling against the Country’s or State’s finest. For the most part, Suburban Turf Cricket is of a similar standard to English league cricket. Good players, decent wickets and yes, all cricket is played on a Saturday / Saturday basis. One team bats this weekend, the other the next. There is however a few scheduled one-day games throughout the season.
