What is the standard ceiling height?
Believe it or not, there isn’t one. Most residential ceilings are between 8 and 10 feet high. Knowing your ceiling height is very important in deciding what scale fixture will look best in your space. We encourage customers to measure their ceiling height before placing an order. If you have 8-foot ceilings, pay extra attention to theOverall Lengthof the fixture you choose (Fixture Length+Shade Height=Overall Length) to make sure it does not hang too low in your space. Conversely, if you have 10-foot or higher ceilings, you may want a larger scale or longer fixture that will bring the fixture and light down into the space.
