What is the SRO Program?
The School Resource Officer Program is a partnership between the Livermore Joint Unified School District and the Livermore Police Department. The program began in 1991. Two police officers were chosen to be the liaisons to work with the school district in forming a partnership. They were assigned to the two main high schools to handle law enforcement matters on the campus and to be resource to the students and staff. In 2000, two SRO’s were added. They cover the continuation school and assist at the high schools.
