The entire SRB Global Namespace can be transparently accessed by Windows applications using the SRB Windows (CIFS) Gateway. The gateway is implemented through a Samba Server, which can be installed on almost all UNIX and Linux operating systems. A VFS module supports the translation of the Windows-specific CIFS protocol into SRB API calls.
