What is the Speed of USB Hub 4 port as compare to single port usb?

The amount of ports* do not effect speed, the type of port does. A USB 2.0 can possibly transfer at 480 Meg per second, while the older 1.1 version I believe could only do 120 Meg per second. Also the type of pen drive can determine how fast it will allow information be read on and off the device. If the pen drive specifies a class rating, the higher the rating, the faster the information can be read/write to/from the card. Each single port on the computer can handle a maximum of 4 extension ports on port extension devices. It has nothing to do with speed, it more of a guild line for power requirements. Though I have seen external ports devices with 8 or more ports, they normally come with an external power supply. *what does effect speed of USB ports is distance rather than amount of ports connected. But you’d have to have cables in the 100 feet range before you’d notice a loss of speed and data.
