What is the Special Priority Status on the waiting list?
The SHRA requires that households in the Special Priority Household Category allows clients to move ahead of all other clients on waiting lists for housing. In the City of Toronto, there are local access rules that give priority to the following categories: • 1st priority goes to victims of abuse • 2nd priority goes to persons who are terminally ill • 3rd priority goes to overhoused tenants in rent-geared-to-income housing Please click here for more information about Special Priority Status.
