What is the Special Malt Beverage Retailers License and Special Retail On-Sale Wine Dealers License?
This license may be issued to any civic, charitable, educational or fraternal organization in conjunction with a special event. This license must be issued in the same manner as any other malt beverage licenses, including the requirement that notice of the application be published and a hearing to issue the license be held, with the exceptions that the state does not have to grant approval and the entire license fee remains in the municipality. If an organization receiving such a license is sponsoring a street dance, the organization must provide qualified security personnel as deemed necessary by the local governing body to maintain order during the street dance.
