What is the Speaker’s Bureau?
You can request under speakers bureau funding, which is a new, very limited funding allocation that we are exploring. To furnish a request this way, send an email describing: the amount requested, event detail, speaker information, orgs involved, expected attendance, and purpose — to myself (swchen@u.washington.edu AND Rachelle Celebrezze, rec2003@u.washington.edu). Even after the speakers bureau approves it, it still has to be approved by the larger SBA board, similar to that described for supplemental funding. To emphasize one important point, this is limited to expenses FOR THE SPEAKER (gift, honoraria, etc.) This is not for expenses related to the speaker’s event (ie, food for others, room expenses, etc.). Also, generally speaking, reimbursement for lodging and travel is not available.
