What Is The Spanish House & Its Mission Statement?
The Spanish House is one of three language theme housing residential halls found in the 5th floor of Carmichael Dorm. We are composed of 32 members, of which 16 are females and 16 are males. We welcome all students currently enrolled in UNC-CH and do not discriminate on gender, race, sexual orientation, year, major, etc. Our only two requirements are that 1, you’re genuinely interested in meeting great people, learning about other cultures, making long lasting friendships, and having the best residential experience at UNC-CH, and 2, that you possess the Spanish conversational skills we deem proficient for our weekly activities. The Spanish House’s mission can be summarized into four goals: 1. To improve our understanding of the Spanish Language and to practice it daily. 2. To learn and share different aspects of Latin American culture, along with the cultures of members of the Spanish House. 3. To create a community founded on respect, friendship, and fellowship within The Spanish Hous
