What is the Spanish healthcare system like?
A. In our opinion excellent. This is unfortunately from personal experience. In our local area of Almanzora, as well as very good doctor’s surgeries and pharmacies there is a good hospital in Albox. However only 20 minutes away in Heurcal Overa is one of the newest and reputedly one of the best Hospitals in the whole of Spain. The nurses, doctors and surgeons are excellent and the hospital is spotlessly clean with outbreaks of MRSA and the like unheard of. Also there are fine hospitals in Almeria, Murcia and Granada which if needed can be reached quite easily.
