The sound that is occasionally heard, during a chiropractic adjustment, is from a nitrogenous gas pocket. Each joint is surrounded by a capsule that is filled with fluid and gases. It is within this capsule that the nitrogen content can build up. Once released, via an adjustment, a small “popping” sound may be heard.
