What is the SOS team and how does that work?
SOS stands for System of Support. If a parent or teacher feels a student needs additional help, he/she can refer a student to the SOS team. This team consists of the SPS director, counselors, psychologists and social workers. They review a student’s record regarding performance in class and behavior, and suggest other interventions that might be helpful, such as additional tutoring, a literacy program, outside referrals, etc. Contact the SPS director with questions.
