What is the song sung by the british soldiers in the dinner scene of The Little Princesss (1939)?
Glad to assist, this was one of the last films before WWII. That is important, sad as it was the first movie watch at the start of WWII in England. Suspect a person in the UK will answer this before I finish typing this. Lets see: the film has every British classic patriotic song, and a few just from the era (Boer War), over 100 years ago. A few from songs and music as background from Scotland, and a few knock-off’s of British music hall songs. But I recall no scene like you note. I could be in error but I think you may mean another Temple film, perhaps, Wee Willie Winkie “Auld Lang Syne”, as it was in that film a Scots Regiment. I also have a vague recall of perhaps God Rest you Merry gentlemen, tidings of comfort and joy from one of her films; Hope you get the answer, I’ll try and check back.
