What is the smallest duck breed?
call ducks are the smallest ducks in the world.They are ornamental ducks and fly really well.They are also pricey. If you want one for a pet i would reccumind non flying breeds.Flying breeds need larger housing and pens with roofs to keep hawks and raccoons out.I have white Peking ducks and they are trainable.I have trained mine to come when I call them and to stay in our yard.They also allow us to pet them.I got mine as one day old ducklings.All of my ducks stay in our yard.We have 6 of them.White Pekings are one of the largest ducks and are dual purpose ducks.They lay large delicious eggs too.Duck eggs are lower in cholesterol. Some breeds of ducks you may need a permit to have.Check with your state by calling your local wild life commission.You can also look on the internet.I live in Florida and we need a permit to have Mallards,and all sea ducks.Check with your local commission.
