What is the skeptical explanation for?
As for the question you linked to, there is nothing mysterious there that needs explanation. There’s no reason why someone can’t dream that they are observing themselves from the outside. I’ve had dreams like that. There’s no reason such dreams can’t happen during sleep paralysis or normal sleep or any other time the mind is in a sleeping or partial waking state. The only time that an explanation would even be needed regarding astral projection is if someone can demonstrate (not simply tell a story, but demonstrate) that they obtained special information via astral projection. If astral projection is real, this could be easily demonstrated by a simple pre-arranged test.
