What is the situation with respect to intellectual property ownership in the case of an overseas student funded by an overseas institution?
Subject to any agreement that the student may have with the funding institution, the student will bound by the terms of their enrolment at the University. Accordingly, intellectual property created by the student would belong to the student, unless their project is governed by an agreement with a third party.
