There are two types of schools. There are some schools that are Roma schools, because they [are in] areas where only Roma people live, so this school is only for Roma. In other schools, they have Roma and non-Roma children. In schools where there are only Roma children, they try to implement programmes … Usually [the Greek-language] level [of Roma children] is very low – they speak two or three languages. There’s low attendance. In our area, they speak two languages: Greek and Romani. When they come to school, they don’t speak Greek at all, so they try to pay more attention to the language, but with no special result yet. There’s a low quality of construction, the building, for example. I personally think that [the government] should put more money in construction and development. For these schools where Roma and non-Roma children are, they have supplementary classes, so in the first hours they do some extra lessons in Greek and then they meet the rest of the children during classes
