I don’t think there is a single mistake men make when they approach women, I think there are many mistakes that they can make. Most men approach women from a superficial, “I like your looks, I like your body, I like your hair, I like your eyes,” that’s usually what prompts a man to approach a woman. He doesn’t know who that woman is, well she may be a woman who likes a very humble guy, or a guy who puts his feelings on the line. She might be a person who is shallow and has no depth at all and is looking at the same things he’s looking at. Most men have to evaluate, if they have time to do that, who is the person they are approaching and why are they approaching them. Then take it from there. Knowledge is a great thing.
