Citizenship and Immigration Canada has introduced a new Simplified application process for Federal Skilled workers and Business immigrants beginning September 1, 2006. Applicant submits only a Basic application form and fee and does not submit supporting documentation with the initial application, but rather at a later stage. An acknowledgment of Receipt letter will be issued with File Number along with a brief outline as to future processing steps. When Visa office is ready to assess the Application, applicant will be contacted to send the required Supporting documentation. Applicant will have to submit Updated application forms; additional fees and all supporting documents. Once the visa office has received all of the documents, CIC officer will assess the application, taking into account all of the information and documentation provided.
