What is the Silverbirch Institute of Corporate Directors?
The Silverbirch Institute of Corporate Directors (SICD) is a member- based organization that represents the director community in Japan. As a founding member of the Global Director Development Circle, the SICD sets the standards for Japanese Directors that are recognized internationally. The Institute of Corporate Directors – D (ICD.D) certification is issued through a partnership with the Institute of Corporate Directors, headquartered in Canada. The Silverbirch Institute of Corporate Directors offers educations to Directors through events, continuing studies and formal education through its Global Board Director Initiative. With a view to enhancing the quality of Directorships in Japan, the SICD acts as a valuable resource for public, private, government and not-for-profit Directors, providing members with timely updates on governance trends and benchmarking tools.
