There are 12 constellations considered to be in the zodiac. There are actually 13, but astrologers don’t bother with basic facts. The only significance of these constellations is that the sun appears to move through them during the year (the sun appears to travel across our skies along the ‘ecliptic’, and the zodiac constellations happen to lie along the ecliptic).
