WHAT IS THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND EMOTIONAL ASPECTS OF A HOMEOPATHIC DIAGNOSIS?
The philosophy of Homeopathic medicine is based on the fact that the body, mind and emotions are not separate. They are actually fully integrated. From this perspective homeopaths seek a remedy that fits all of a patients physical and psychological symptoms. Then the homeopath will try to identify those symptoms that should be specially noted, and then choose an individualized remedy that fits the person. Prolonged emotional stress, grief, disappointment, and traumatic events can cause physical problems like migraines, upset stomach, difficulty in digesting foods, painful menstruations, poor nutrient assimilation, chronic backache, weaker immune system, sleeplessness, eruptions etc. On the other hand, diseases and physical problems can result in anxiety, panic attack, or depression. Therefore, it is important for a homeopath to interview a patient in a way that covers the person’s wholeness.
