What is the significance of `server shutdown time ?
AIt is always possible to stop an iAS engine by killing it at the operating system level. However, in a production environment this may cause it to go down while still holding requests in its queue. The failover mechanism in an iAS cluster will dispatch requests to any server that is working, and competent to answer the request, but it can’t extract requests from a dead server’s queue. Shutting a server or engine down using the admin tool gives the process a chance to clear its queue before going down, but without accepting any new requests. The failover mechanism should transparently divert its load to another server. If the process does not signal that it is going down within the specified shutdown time, then the admin tool sends it a signal to shutdown immediately.
