What is the significance of rosary beads? What makes them special?
The Rosary is a form of prayer, there are 15 decades on a full rosary. Each focuses on a Mystery of the Church, There are 3 sets of Mysteries. Each set has 5 mysteries in it. The importance of the prayer beads, is to be used as guidance as you pray these sets while reflecting on the Mysteries. They help you keep track of where you are. In each decade there are 10 Hail Marys and 1 Our Father. For each Mystery you complete one set of those. There are 3 sets of Mysteries, and 15 Mysteries total. So each Mystery, has it’s own decade on the rosary. Many rosaries are smaller contaning 5 decades. It workes the same way only in order to pray all of the Mysteries you must complete 3 rounds of this.
