I think it’s much ado about nothing. Pirated files onle make up a VERY small amount of music distributed. Most of the artist’s income comes from CD sales, which are high dispite itunes and some artists giving music away free online like Coldplay, Radiohead and Nine Inch Nails have all done. I can’t see where the major losses are to be honest, if I were a recording artist as successful as some of them, I don’t think I would care if someone ‘stole’ a couple of my albums. The biggest scourge on recording artists is the record companies themselves, as they pocket a BIG percentage of what the artist earns.
